Natural Solid Queensland Wood Replacement Opal & Sterling Silver Pendant
This is a unique, handmade pendant incorporating a natural cut and polished Wood Replacement Opal from Queensland and a natural Chrysoprase set in solid sterling silver and stamped 925 on the back.
The opal is a freeform oval shape. The stone has a light base stone with translucent light green opal with flashes of bright red, green, blue and purple.
The weight of the Opal cabochon is 10ct, dimensions are 22x10mm.
The Chrysoprase is an 8x5mm teardrop shape cabochon, carat size 1ct.
Dimensions of the pendant are approximately 53x13mm. Total weight of pendant is 5.3g.
Only found in Western Queensland, Boulder Opal formed millions of years ago in seams within ironstone or sandstone boulders where silica rich water seeped down into cracks and crevices and over time formed opal. Only a rare few will exhibit the amazing patterns and vibrant colours associated with this type of opal.
