Natural Solid Queensland Boulder Opal Pendant with adjustable waxed cotton cord necklace
The pendant is a double-sided freeform teardrop shape which has been drilled through the side of the stone. There are intricate patterns containing areas of opaque moss and translucent purple opal with flashes of bright blue.
Approximate dimensions are 20x11x6mm, and weight is 15.5ct.
The pendant is threaded with a black adjustable waxed cotton cord with two sterling silver beads either side of the pendant.
Total weight is 5g.
Only found in Western Queensland, Boulder Opal formed millions of years ago in seams within ironstone or sandstone boulders where silica rich water seeped down into cracks and crevices and over time formed opal. Only a rare few will exhibit the amazing patterns and vibrant colours associated with this type of opal.
