Natural Solid Queensland Boulder Opal, Chrysoprase & Sterling Silver Pendant
This is a unique, handmade pendant incorporating a natural cut and polished Boulder Opal from Queensland and a natural Chrysoprase set in solid sterling silver and stamped 925 on the back.
The opal is a freeform segment shape. The stone has a dark ironstone with multi-colour flashes of bright red, orange, yellow, green, blue & purple.
The weight of the Opal cabochon is 13ct, dimensions are 20x10mm.
The Chrysoprase is a 36x19mm marquis shaped cabochon.
Dimensions of the pendant are approximately 45x39mm. Total weight of pendant is 3.8g.
Only found in Western Queensland, Boulder Opal formed millions of years ago in seams within ironstone or sandstone boulders where silica rich water seeped down into cracks and crevices and over time formed opal. Only a rare few will exhibit the amazing patterns and vibrant colours associated with this type of opal.
