Natural Solid Winton Queensland Boulder Opal & Sterling Silver Ring
This is a handmade sterling silver ring, incorporating a natural, polished Boulder Opal from Winton, Queensland set in solid sterling silver and stamped 925 on the back.
The cabochon is a solid, freeform triangular shape predominantly blue/green in colour with flashes of bright green, blue and red when viewed from different angles.
Dimensions of the set stone are approximately 13mm x 9mm, carat size 2.75ct.
The size of the ring is a UK/AUS size M.
Only found in Western Queensland, Boulder Opal formed millions of years ago in seams within ironstone or sandstone boulders where silica rich water seeped down into cracks and crevices and over time formed opal. Only a rare few will exhibit the amazing patterns and vibrant colours associated with this type of opal.
