Natural Solid Queensland Boulder Opal & Sterling Silver Pendant
This is a unique, handmade necklace & pendant, created from recycled and vintage sterling silver incorporating a natural, cut and polished Andamooka Queensland Boulder Opal and stamped 925 on the back.
The necklace is formed from a rubber cord with a sterling silver clasp.
Approximate length of necklace is 50cm.
The pendant features a freeform oval shaped opal, and the matrix has intricate patterns which contain pinfire flashes of bright red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple opal uniformly over the face of the stone.
Approximate dimensions are 31x23mm carat size 35.5ct.
Only found in Western Queensland, Boulder Opal formed millions of years ago in seams within ironstone or sandstone boulders where silica rich water seeped down into cracks and crevices and over time formed opal. Only a rare few will exhibit the amazing patterns and vibrant colours associated with this type of opal.
Photographs have been taken in various lighting conditions.
Dimensions are approximate.
