Natural Solid Queensland Yowah Nut Opal Pendant with adjustable waxed cotton cord necklace
This is a natural, cut and polished Boulder Opal from Yowah, Queensland.
The stone is a double-sided freeform segment shape, which has a dark ironstone base with intricate patterns and multi-colour flashes of bright red, orange, yellow, green and blue.
Approximate dimensions are 25x10mm carat size 6.5ct.
The pendant is threaded with a black waxed cotton cord and has a 8mm round Green Aventurine and two sterling silver beads to keep it in place. Total weight is approximately 3.5g.
Only found in Western Queensland, Boulder Opal formed millions of years ago in seams within ironstone or sandstone boulders where silica rich water seeped down into cracks and crevices and over time formed opal. Only a rare few will exhibit the amazing patterns and vibrant colours associated with this type of opal.
The pendant is also adorned with an 8mm drilled Green Aventurine stone.
Green aventurine is thought to promote emotional well-being and self-confidence, as well as enhancing luck and abundance.
Green Aventurine is often connected to the Heart Chakra, which represents the centre for compassion, empathy and forgiveness.
Photographs have been taken in various lighting conditions.
Dimensions are approximate.
