AUSTRALIAN MADE
Natural Solid Queensland Boulder Opal Pendant with adjustable waxed cotton cord.
The pendant is a large freeform teardrop shape which has been drilled through the face of the stone. The dark host stone has multicolour flashes of red, orange, yellow, green and blue.
Approximate dimensions are 23x16mm. Carat size 13.5ct.
The stone is threaded with a black waxed cotton cord with a sterling silver bead to hold it in place.
Total weight of pendant and cord is 4g.
Only found in Western Queensland, Boulder Opal formed millions of years ago in seams within ironstone or sandstone boulders where silica rich water seeped down into cracks and crevices and over time formed opal. Only a rare few will exhibit the amazing patterns and vibrant colours associated with this type of opal.
