This is a natural, cut, and polished Wood Replacement Opal from Queensland.

Natural Solid Queensland Wood Replacement Opal Pendant with adjustable black cord.

The pendant is a freeform teardrop shape with areas of bright orange, green and blue opal.

The pendant also contains an 8mm faceted Chrysoprase stone.

Chrysoprase is believed to help with mindfulness, emotional balance, and growth, and is associated with the heart chakra, the center of love, compassion, and healing.

Approximate dimensions are 20x10mm. Carat size is 9.5ct. Total weight of pendant is 5g.

The pendant is threaded with a black waxed cotton cord with two sterling silver beads to hold it in place.

Only found in Western Queensland, Boulder Opal formed millions of years ago in seams within ironstone or sandstone boulders where silica rich water seeped down into cracks and crevices and over time formed opal. Only a rare few will exhibit the amazing patterns and vibrant colours associated with this type of opal.

In the case of Wood Replacement Opal, the spaces where organic matter has broken down has been replaced, over a very long period of time, by opal. You can often see the structure of stems or other vegetation visible within the opal.
