Natural Solid Queensland Boulder Opal & Sterling Silver Pendant
This is a handmade pendant, incorporating a natural, cut and polished Boulder Opal from Queensland set in solid sterling silver stamped 925 on the back.
The stone is a freeform oval shape with a matrix of dark ironstone and multi-colour flashes of bright red, orange, yellow, green and blue.
Dimensions of the stone are 18x9mm, carat size is 4.5ct.
The overall size of the pendant is approximately 47x16mm.
Weight of pendant is approximately 3.5g.
Only found in Western Queensland, Boulder Opal formed millions of years ago in seams within ironstone or sandstone boulders where silica rich water seeped down into cracks and crevices and over time formed opal. Only a rare few will exhibit the amazing patterns and vibrant colours associated with this type of opal.
