Natural Solid Queensland Yowah Nut Opal Tri-sided Pendant with adjustable waxed cotton cord necklace
The small opal cabochon is a high domed freeform teardrop shape with intricate patterns and flashes of bright red, orange, yellow green and blue opal.
The stone is approximately 16x11x7mm, weight is 8.8ct.
The pendant is threaded with a black waxed cotton cord and has two sterling silver beads to keep it in place. Total weight is approximately 3.5g.
Only found in Western Queensland, Boulder Opal formed millions of years ago in seams within ironstone or sandstone boulders where silica rich water seeped down into cracks and crevices and over time formed opal. Only a rare few will exhibit the amazing patterns and vibrant colours associated with this type of opal.
