Natural Solid Queensland Wood Replacement Opal Pendant with adjustable waxed cotton cord.
The pendant is a freeform high domed teardrop shape. The stone has a light host stone with translucent purple opal and flashes of green, blue and purple.
Approximate dimensions are 23x21x11mm. Carat size 34ct.
The pendant has a sterling silver bail and beads. Total weight of pendant and cord is 9.8g.
Only found in Western Queensland, Boulder Opal formed millions of years ago in seams within ironstone or sandstone boulders where silica rich water seeped down into cracks and crevices and over time formed opal. Only a rare few will exhibit the amazing patterns and vibrant colours associated with this type of opal.
