Natural Solid Queensland Boulder Opal & Sterling Silver Pendant
This is a handmade pendant incorporating a natural cut and polished Yowah nut kernel Boulder Opal from Queensland set in solid sterling silver stamped 925 on the back.
The stone is a freeform oval shape of dark ironstone with multi-color flashes of red, orange, yellow, green and blue.
Dimensions of stone are 17x14mm, carat size is 9ct.
Size of the pendant is approximately 33x18mm. Total weight of pendant is 4.6g.
Only found in Western Queensland, Boulder Opal formed millions of years ago in seams within ironstone or sandstone boulders where silica rich water seeped down into cracks and crevices and over time formed opal. Only a rare few will exhibit the amazing patterns and vibrant colours associated with this type of opal.
