Natural Solid Queensland Boulder Opal & Sterling Silver Pendant
This is a handmade pendant, incorporating a natural, cut and polished Boulder Opal from Queensland set in solid sterling silver stamped 925 on the back.
The stone is a freeform oval shape with a matrix of dark ironstone containing intricate patterns and flashes of bright red, green and blue which flash brightly when viewed from different angles.
Dimensions of the stone are 29x13mm, carat size is 15ct.
The overall size of the pendant is approximately 45x14mm.
Weight of pendant is approximately 4.9g.
Only found in Western Queensland, Boulder Opal formed millions of years ago in seams within ironstone or sandstone boulders where silica rich water seeped down into cracks and crevices and over time formed opal. Only a rare few will exhibit the amazing patterns and vibrant colours associated with this type of opal.
