Natural Solid Queensland Boulder Opal Pendant with adjustable waxed cotton cord necklace
The pendant is a freeform teardrop shape which has been drilled through the face of the stone. The stone has intricate patterns and multi-colour flashes of bright red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple.
Approximate dimensions are 24x15mm, and weight is 15ct.
The pendant is threaded with a 2mm diameter waxed cotton cord with a sterling silver bead to hold it in place. Total weight is 4.5g.
Only found in Western Queensland, Boulder Opal formed millions of years ago in seams within ironstone or sandstone boulders where silica rich water seeped down into cracks and crevices and over time formed opal. Only a rare few will exhibit the amazing patterns and vibrant colours associated with this type of opal.
