Natural Solid Queensland Yowah Nut Boulder Opal Double-sided Pendant with adjustable waxed cotton cord.
The pendant is a double-sided freeform round shape which has been drilled through the face of the stone. The stone follows the contours of the outside of a Yowah Nut and has intricate patterns with multicolour flashes of red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple.
Approximate dimensions are 21mm Diameter. Carat size 22ct.
The stone is threaded with a black waxed cotton cord with a sterling silver bead to hold it in place.
Total weight of pendant and cord is 6g.
Only found in Western Queensland, Boulder Opal formed millions of years ago in seams within ironstone or sandstone boulders where silica rich water seeped down into cracks and crevices and over time formed opal. Only a rare few will exhibit the amazing patterns and vibrant colours associated with this type of opal.
