Natural Solid Queensland Boulder Opal Pendant with a sterling silver bail.
The pendant is a double-sided freeform oval shape containing translucent mauve opal & intricate patterns with opaque blue and purple opal.
Approximate dimensions are 21x10mm. Carat size is 9.5ct.
The pendant is drilled with a sterling silver bail attached at the top. Total length is 32mm, total weight is 2.2g.
Only found in Western Queensland, Boulder Opal formed millions of years ago in seams within ironstone or sandstone boulders where silica rich water seeped down into cracks and crevices and over time formed opal. Only a rare few will exhibit the amazing patterns and vibrant colours associated with this type of opal.
