Natural Solid Queensland Boulder Opal Pendant with adjustable waxed cotton cord necklace
The pendant is a freeform tri-sided segment shape drilled through the side, it has an ironstone base with intricate patterns containing bright flashes of red, pink, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple.
Approximate dimensions are 28x13x13mm. Carat size 58ct.
The pendant is threaded with a 1.5mm diameter waxed cotton cord with two gold-plated sterling silver beads at either side.
Total weight is 13.5g.
Only found in Western Queensland, Boulder Opal formed millions of years ago in seams within ironstone or sandstone boulders where silica rich water seeped down into cracks and crevices and over time formed opal. Only a rare few will exhibit the amazing patterns and vibrant colours associated with this type of opal.
